Just got back my GRE scores.

Verbal 610/800 (87th percentile)
Quantitatve 800/800 (94th percentile)
Analytical 6.0/6 (96th percentile)

I'm amazed I got 6s on the writing, I was seriously expecting scores in the 4 and 5 range. People don't generally seem to like my writing style, and spelling and grammar (of which mine is exquisite) aren't counted. I'm rather annoyed by the verbal scoring. I have an extensive vocabulary, yet most of the questions involved words even I didn't know, most of which lacked obvious greek or latin roots.

a 100-point split is considered 'standard' -- that is to say, subjects who receive, for example, 600 verbal 700 quant, are considered to be equally-balanced between both disciplines.

800 quant is very impressive, and considerably better than mine. =)

er, a 100-pt-split with math/quant being higher, i mean.
hopefully that came across more clearly than was scribed.

Does that make me unhinged, then?

I was pretty surprised about the 800, as I know for a fact that I got one question wrong.

I've been looking at some of the best teaching programs in the area and, mostly for nostalgia, WPI.

PS - definitely. [livejournal.com profile] princess_muffin had some good ideas as to how to make the game viable. We also have a deadline. The game has to be written (GM goal shared by [livejournal.com profile] shogunhb and myself) and bid (practical deadline due to 'Con registration schedule) by 10/24. Ideally, this means we can run a dry run at WPI or somesuch during Nov/Dec/Jan and do a rewrite during February.

Sweet. Good luck!

Can you send out an email to the writers, just to start up the thread? I'm going to try to make New Year's - maybe we can do the dry run late Dec?
