WTF?

Ok, I checked LJ yesterday. Why is it that there were new posts showing up on my friends page all the way back to Friday? Also, is there a way to get the "tracking" system to automatically set itself to email? It's really annoying to have to constantly tell it "yes, I really meant it when I wanted you to track it. Why wouldn't I want to know about it?"

Yes. Up by the person+ and pencil symbols, there's a thumbtack. Click on the thumbtack, and you can track entries, tags, fileters, and whole journals. But if you don't click on the email checkbox, they get sent to some nebulous destination of uselessness.
