*Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow. I'm not, but I could be. I give it odds at 90% between the statistical facts of a) larger pool of potential mates and b) less societal pressure. But discriminatory marriage laws hurt the institution marriage. They turn it, not from an affirmation of your relationship, to approval of your relationship. You cease to be declarants and become supplicants. So if you're not ok with the state later on deciding your marriage is invalid, you're for gay marriage.
