So, I was at a conference today and won a free (first generation) iPhone. I happen to also be in need of a new phone. Switching to the iPhone would mean changing providers, probably unlocking it, and a huge increase in phone bills (or loss of internet). Anyone out here got an iPhone with a pay-as-you-go or prepaid internet package?

Or maybe I should just sell it on eBay...

The first generation iPhones are going for quite a bit.

Unlocking a first-gen iPhone is trivial, tho.

oh, and service+internet on T-Mobile would be pretty cheap.

I might be interested. What do you want for it?

Define "pretty cheap". I currently pay about $15/month.

According to eBay, I want $400 for it.

That's on a family plan, or something?

Service in T-Mobile costs as much as service anywhere. The internet would cost another $10/month on top of any of their plans, such as $30 for 300 minutes.

Given that with the MS discount I'm paying close to $80 for the same, I'd call that cheap :)

Too rich for my blood. Sell it and put the cash to good use :-)
