outlander's housewarming party, I was conversing with people about Neil Gaiman and mentioned a short story I had read that I misattributed to him. One of the other conversationalists (maverickweirdo, perhaps?) said it sounded like an idea Harlan Ellison had. And indeed, he was correct. Ellison wrote the short story about Shangri-La being a McDonald's. Gaiman wrote the ghost story about child abuse.
