Good Morning, World

etherialI love being up at six in the morning. I love seeing the world before it's showered, before people lose their minds. I love the morning call of the cardinal that lives outside my bedroom, the greyed-out, unfinished world we live in.
I also love the night. I love the dark, twinkling sky, the people moving about, their only purpose to find one another and enjoy life. I love watching over the world as it falls asleep, as slows down, stumbles, and stops.
Now here's the kicker: I also love to sleep. I love to guard the Holy Grail like I did on Wednesday, I love to fight the good fight like I did this morning. I love to linger in my bed, to slowly, gradually, consider rising and entering the world.
There just aren't enough hours in the day.
