Like on another plane of Existence

etherialIf you had told me a year ago where I'd be today, I would not have believed you. As a matter of fact, I'd've laughed and probably bitterly contemplated how horribly wrong you were. tpau. It's amazing how a little unshakable faith can carry you through the darkest of times and bring you someplace bright. My birthday party last night went very well. There were just enough guests that everyone had someone to talk to about their favourite topics, but it never got too loud or too obnoxious. Most of the guests were friends from my WPI days (big surprise there), but there were also people I've known since Middle School and people I've met in just the past year.
At the beginning of the month, I moved out to Waltham. It gets me closer to my new job and my new girlfriend, and it's nice to be in more control of my own space again. We went on a furniture-buying trip to IKEA and I got to be handy around the house building furniture. I've been working at my new job for a week now, and they've provided me with a lovely laptop to do my work on, and it comes in handy for all sorts of things.
It's so overwhelming how different things are. But things have not come without a price. It's been two months now since my best friend has said anything to me. Her boyfriend keeps telling me that she's just busy, but...I don't really know that I can believe him. I really don't know if he's telling me the truth, or if he even knows it. I miss my friend.
