Neil Gaiman vs. Harlan Ellison

outlander's housewarming party, I was conversing with people about Neil Gaiman and mentioned a short story I had read that I misattributed to him. One of the other conversationalists (
maverickweirdo, perhaps?) said it sounded like an idea Harlan Ellison had. And indeed, he was correct. Ellison wrote the short story about Shangri-La being a McDonald's. Gaiman wrote the ghost story about child abuse.
