She told me if her parents found out she was pregnant she would be disowned and kicked out of the family home. She also told me that her brothers would murder her boyfriend, and I believed her. (I understand that Massachusetts is currently revolutionizing healthcare for the people who "chose" not to buy it before the mandate, but, we're just one state.)

Massachusetts is a wonderful example of how intermediate "progress" can be worse than the eventual goal which is sought after.
Some times, compromise is death and one party in a debate is 100% correct.
