etherialWow. I have not made a substantive post all year. Let's see how things are going:
1. Still unemployed. I've been ramping myself up on the work searching, clawing my way up and out of the holding pattern I've been in.
2. My computer is officially dead. "They" think the hard drive is fine, but it would cost as much to repair as to replace. I don't have money for either.
3. We're way behind on wedding planning, due largely to #1 and #2 above.
4. I've been running my Earthdawn game for a full year now.
5. I've been making an effort to do some cleaning around the house every day.

Date: 2010-01-26 05:22 pm (UTC)Brian wants you to pull out your internal hard drive, house it in an external 'shell,' and try to plug it into someone else's computer [as an extra drive, not as a single/primary drive] to see if the data can be seen/salvaged/recovered. I also believe this is worth trying.
Failing this, when resources permit I would find the cheapest system available on www.accurateit.com. A $100 PC is possible, though it will boot/work at a snail's pace -- you'll be happier with a $200 system, or perhaps the aforementioned $100 system augmented with $80 of additional RAM.
