Open it and blow some clean air through it to try and knock any dust out. Use a clean lens/eyeglass cloth and wipe the lens gently.
If that didn't do it, try using it for a while with a book or something under two legs at a time, to tip it in each orientation forward/backward/left/right. Sometimes, if the head alignment is coming loose and you're lucky, tipping the whole thing in one direction can make the head stay in alignment, but it's trial and error finding which direction works best.
If none of that fixes it to your satisfaction, then I'm with stillking in the belief that any other fix will cost more than buying a whole new unit.
