Date: 2009-12-30 08:58 am (UTC)Yeah, I mean, at this point there's very little to be lost by the disassembly/isopropyl method. I might suggest booting up the hard drive in someone else's chassis (or putting it in an enclosure to boot as an external drive, or putting it in another chassis' secondary slot as an extra drive), purely for data-recovery purposes; Linux and BSD machines should be able to mount this without too much trouble. (I am less confident wrt Windows.)
