Due to the unexpected Vampire game yesterday, I've plunged deeper into my Uncontrollable Urge to run a Requiem LARP. Sadly, my doctor did not have the cream to remove said urge. The beginnings of the body public of information can be seen at [livejournal.com profile] cityofmasques.

1. Requiem's been out since August. Bright shiny red book. You'll also want the World of Darkness book. Bright shiny blue book. A lot of things are completely different. A lot of things are exactly the same.

2. MET has been totally revised, the old system of bidding traits went in the garbage where it belonged. MET is now purported to be 100% cross-compatible with tabletop, and its success generator - while not a perfect map of the tabletop one - is way better than its predecessor. It's not technically *out* yet, so I can't speak to all of the specifics.

3. In the event I *still* don't want to use the MET rules, we'll be using the system we were developing for the game I was writing with Doc and Shaughn, using RPS to determine successes: Tie gets you the Expected Value for your die pool, Win/Loss gets you one Standard Variation up/down. This is a more accurate mapping than the WPI system of old, and the best part is that it generates SUCCESSES, not wins/losses.

I still remember the formulas for generating that table if you want.
