You ever have one of those nights where you kinda forget to fall asleep and spend the whole night thinking? I've had 3 of those in a row. Is this insomniacal?

*giggles madly*

I'd say so, yes.

Sorry, the giggling is because I have two modes of sleep: insomnia or narcolepsy. I'm in an insomnia phase now. Last week, I got about 16 hours total, including being up from Tuesday AM -> Friday AM, straight.

Here's wishing you return to a normal sleep schedule soon.

Sounds far too familiar. What's worked for me is; lay off the caffeine. all of it. Then, schedule (and stick to it) an hour of downtime before actually going to bed. This last is particularly important if you're spending hours doing the same task and then just stopping and trying to sleep. If you can't manage actual relaxing decompression time before bed, at least switch to a *completely different* task, so your brain isn't still chugging along out of inertia. ymmv, etc.

I agree with that guy up there. downtime is very important. For me, that also includes not being on the computer, maybe not even watching tv. definitely not listening to music, and not spending that downtime in my bed either. Maybe a book or something.

Sometimes it's also helpful, maybe it doesn't necessarily get you to sleep but at least helps mentally, is at some point give up and be like "ok, so i ain't sleeping tonight. Whatever then, i'll just rest my eyes as i ponder" the "whatever" is very key. this is one of those few times in life when i think it's actually beneficial to give up. ;)
